Everett Hittin' on All Cylinders
Tuesday, April 21st, 2015
"To hit for the cycle" is one of the rarest of feats in a baseball game. This occurs when a player hits a single, double, triple and home run in the same game, getting every type of hit possible. Stephen Everett grabbed a piece of baseball history today when he hit for the cycle. Everett went 4 for 4 with 1 run batted in and 3 runs scored against Jersey, leading the Kansas City Tornadoes to a 9-3 win at The Royal Court at Jersey Yards.
"I felt comfortable at the plate in a way I haven't felt all season," Everett said after the game. "It was like they were throwing beach balls at me. The ball seemed that big to me. And it just floated in."
Stephen Everett tripled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Nick Hutchins in the 3rd, singled in the 6th and doubled in the 8th.
Everett is hitting .260 in 2015 with 4 RBIs and 3 home runs.
