Done Deal: Ward for Dorsey Tuesday, February 17th, 2015 Reports have surfaced that South Carolina has agreed to send 28-year-old reliever John Ward, 27-year-old minor league reliever Stuart Lang, 18-year-old minor league third baseman Katsumoto Matsui and 18-year-old minor league first baseman Rodrigo Flores to the Eureka Hornets in exchange for 23-year-old reliever Cal Henry, 37-year-old reliever Jim Dorsey and $4,000,000 in cash. "It's a done deal," said one executive speaking on the condition of anonymity. "I'm surprised word got around so quickly. We just signed off on this an hour ago." The deal apparently is awaiting physicals before an official announcement is made by either team. Lifetime Ward has put up a 5-and-8 record with 2 saves and a 6.05 ERA. Dorsey has a career spanning 251 appearances. He has earned 9 saves and posted 406 strikeouts in 322.1 innings. His record is 15-11 and he has a 2.43 ERA. |
