Great Week for Jacksonville's Jorge Valdéz Monday, September 29th, 2014 At the age of 34, Jorge Valdéz might have some potential he hasn't realized yet -- if his success at the plate last week is any indication. The Jacksonville right fielder put up some exceptional numbers the past seven days with a .563 batting average. For his efforts Valdéz collected the Thurman Munson League Player of the Week Award. He racked up 18 hits in 32 at-bats, 1 home run and 6 RBIs last week in 7 games. This year Valdéz has batted at a .325 pace with 76 hits, 3 home runs, 28 RBIs and scored 22 times. |
