Willie Patterson Sidelined for 13-14 Months
Thursday, July 17th, 2014
The Cabo San Lucas Toreros were dealt a severe blow when Willie Patterson was hurt throwing a pitch recently in a game against the Jacksonville Jacks. After the game, the team trainer reported Patterson might have to spend a lengthy time on the disabled list. Today doctors confirmed it, ruling the 31-year-old reliever out for the rest of the season with a torn flexor tendon in his elbow. They indicated it would take Patterson at least 13-14 months to heal.

This season Patterson has been credited with 1 save. In 35 relief appearances and 41.1 innings he has a 8-1 won-lost mark, a 2.18 ERA and 31 strikeouts.
