Ouch! Mario Vázquez Shelved by Injury Wednesday, June 12th, 2013 The San Diego Hops were dealt a severe blow when Mario Vázquez was hurt running the bases recently in a game against the Cabo San Lucas Toreros. After the game, the team trainer reported Vázquez might have to spend a lengthy time on the disabled list. Today doctors confirmed it, ruling the 33-year-old third baseman out for the rest of the season with a fractured knee. They indicated it would take Vázquez at least 6 months to heal. Looking at his stats this year, Vázquez has compiled a .285 batting average, while hitting 7 home runs and driving in 31 runs. He has played in 64 games and scored 40 runs. |
