Dempsey Chosen #1 Player Monday, May 20th, 2013 It's always a thrill for fans of the team and students of the game alike when a superstar in the making shows what he's got. Curt Dempsey, the Montgomery Mountain Cats 24-year-old shortstop, put himself in the spotlight last week making him the clear-cut choice for Roberto Clemente League Player of the Week honors. He ripped 14 hits in 23 at-bats, compiling a .609 average with 2 home runs and 5 RBIs. For the year Dempsey has hit at a .322 clip with 31 RBIs, 9 home runs and 23 runs scored. |
