 | Barrage of Hits Gets Okada PL Award Monday, July 11th, 2016 In the twilight of his career, 35-year-old Naganori Okada of Saitama Seibu recaptured some of the old magic last week and came away with the Pacific League Player of the Week Award.
"I've been playing since I was a kid," Okada told reporters, "but you're never too old to feel the thrill of success."
Okada outpaced the rest of the league's hitters last week, reeling off 8 hits in 16 at-bats, 2 home runs, and 9 RBIs to stake his claim to the award.
Okada is hitting .362 so far this season with 31 RBIs and 34 runs scored. He has 68 hits including 6 home runs, 34 walks and .457 OBP. |   |
