 | Kubota Socks it to Lions, Cracks 6 Hits Thursday, May 19th, 2016 After the Tohoku Rakuten 14-3 victory over Saitama Seibu and his 6-hit day shortstop Satoshi Kubota told BNN beat writers, "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college ball, two hits in a game are very good... three or four hits even better... 5 or more are out of sight... and if it is in pro ball... it is really something special."
The 22-year-old player gained that distinction today at Field of the Chariots with a spectacular 6 for 6 game against the Saitama Seibu Lions.
The skipper of the Golden Eagles spoke glowingly of Kubota, telling BNN writers, "His swing is getting there. We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Satoshi did that to perfection today."
Satoshi Kubota singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
Thus far this year Kubota has hit .360 with 6 home runs and 24 RBIs. | |
