 | Skipper Salinas Told to Go, Sacked by Swallows Tuesday, June 30th, 2015 The winds of change have hit Tokyo Yakult. Many saw the writing on the wall but it still came as sort of a surprise to the sports world when Iván Salinas was fired earlier today. The team cited intellectual differences as a contributing factor to their decision but refused to go into details. All that is clear as of right now is the job hunt is on for a new manager. "Iván just wasn't the right guy for our team and our situation right now," said a team official speaking on condition of anonymity.
The Swallows spokesman indicated that Salinas "hadn't been meeting goals set out for him by the team owner". Salinas spoke with the press and said, "What's done is done. I'm just looking at my situation going forward, not backward. There's nothing I can change about the situation in Tokyo Yakult. I just have to focus on what's to come next in my baseball future." | |
