 | PL Star of the Week Honored Monday, August 11th, 2014 In the twilight of his career, 37-year-old Takayuki Yamada of ORIX recaptured some of the old magic last week and came away with the Pacific League Player of the Week Award. "I've been playing since I was a kid," Yamada told reporters, "but you're never too old to feel the thrill of success." Yamada outpaced the rest of the league's hitters last week, reeling off 5 hits in 7 at-bats, 1 home run, and 2 RBIs to stake his claim to the award. Thus far this year Yamada is hitting .314 with 19 home runs, 56 RBIs and 36 runs scored. |   |
