 | Meshizuka Strokes 5 Hits Saturday, April 5th, 2014 No matter what the Hiroshima Toyo Carp threw at him today, Shunso Meshizuka hit it. He easily handled Carp pitching, going 5 for 5 and helping the Swallows to a 7-0 triumph at Frogs Ballpark. He told BNN reporters in the postgame interview, "The way I was swinging today, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball." The Hiroshima Toyo skipper quipped, "Well, the next time we might just do that... blindfold him... and then pitch him differently, just to be sure." Shunso Meshizuka singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Muneyaki Ichihara in the 7th and singled in the 9th. |   |
