 | BNN Reports Ousting of Clemson Manager Lewis Saturday, June 4th, 2016 The Clemson Tigers are looking for a new manager. They announced the release of Rob Lewis today. Present at the press conference were the Clemson owner and general manager. The owner stated, "We need a fresh new start. I felt for a number of reasons, we needed new direction, invigoration and to play with more enthusiasm." Lewis told BNN, "I had a wonderful time with the Tigers. They gave me a great opportunity. They revived my interest in baseball and really gave me a great opportunity to expand my career. I'm more grateful for the job they gave me than I am saddened and upset by the firing."
"We've got a lot of work to do," the general manager said, "and in the next several days we're going to sit down and examine all aspects of the operation. We will proceed with a search as soon as we possibly can and see if we can't set things in motion for the future of this franchise. In the meantime the team will be run by committee with me chairing it. We intend to have a new manager very soon." | |
