 | Skipper Mitchell Cut by Bulldogs Saturday, June 4th, 2016 The future of the Georgia Bulldogs will not include Reese Mitchell. Much-criticized for his in-game managing by local scribes of late, Mitchell has been fired as manager of the Bulldogs. The decision is believed to have been made primarily by the team's owner, who was always quick to publicly criticize Mitchell's decisions on the field and in the clubhouse. When reached at his home in Georgia, the owner said the decision was made "in the best interest of the team," but he refused to elaborate on the specific reasons which led to the firing. Mitchell told BNN he plans to explore his options for another job in baseball. "I'll miss Georgia and I'll miss the Bulldogs, but I won't miss having everything I do second-guessed," he said. | |
