 | Blast Off! 3 HR for Carrillo Friday, April 22nd, 2016 Three home runs don't always equal a win. Most of the time it does, but not today at Pit Vipers Ballpark. The Indiana State Sycamores beat the odds and also beat Júlio Carrillo and the Kansas Jayhawks 9-8. The hot-hitting second baseman had an historic day at the plate with three home runs, 3 hits in 5 at-bats, 7 RBIs and 3 runs scored, but no victory. "This game is special for me. It's an individual accomplishment," he said. "As a team we didn't have a good day, but the three homers make it better." Júlio Carrillo struck out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Jon Morris in the 3rd, flied out in the 6th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Pavle Jugovic in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Tommy Walden in the 8th. For the year Carrillo is batting .211 with 3 home runs. |   |
