 | Quintanilla Belts Bunch of Base Hits Wednesday, May 20th, 2015 5 hits in a game has always been a magic number in baseball. Only a handful of players will do that. Get 5 hits in a game and you get your moment of glory... your 5 minutes of fame... you get your name in the record book. In the Sun Devils 11-0 win over Oregon, Francisco Quintanilla was red-hot today, scorching them for hit after hit at Crunch Ballpark. "To hit the ball consistently well, you have to relax. I was relaxed for the first four hits, but I must admit, I got a little tight when I realized I had a chance for a 5-hit game. On the last at-bat, I was ready to swing at anything close." On his big day Quintanilla delivered 5 hits in 5 at-bats. Francisco Quintanilla singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off William Wagner in the 7th, tripled in the 8th and walked in the 9th. This year Quintanilla is hitting .227 with 6 home runs and 24 RBIs to his credit. He has gotten on base at a .294 clip and scored 26 runs. |   |
