 | No Hits for Brown, Streak Ends at 27 Wednesday, April 22nd, 2015 It was the best of both worlds for the Alabama Crimson Tide today at Titans Ballpark as they defeated the Vanderbilt Commodores 6-1 and also ended Bob Brown's 27-game hitting streak. The 22-year-old Vanderbilt first baseman failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats.
"Nothing personal against Bob, we just wanted to win the game," said the victorious Crimson Tide skipper. "We did a great job keeping him off balance and guessing."
When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Brown frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about my streak ending, but I would feel much better about things if we had won the game."
Currently Brown is batting .378 with 4 home runs, 19 RBIs and 9 runs scored. | |
