 | Mike Sprake Hurt, Out 4 Months Wednesday, May 21st, 2014 Cyclones starting pitcher Mike Sprake will be spending 4 months on the shelf according to his manager. He was hurt in a recent game against South Carolina throwing a pitch and suffered a bone spur in his elbow. The Iowa State GM told BNN no decision had been made on his replacement. He said an announcement was forthcoming, probably tomorrow. So far this year Sprake has made 9 starts, tossed 49.1 innings, struck out 68 batters and walked 9. His record is 2-2 with a 3.10 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .235 batting average. |   |
