 | Evans Belts 3 HR for Tigers Saturday, April 5th, 2014 Regardless of where you stand on the "hardest thing to do in sports" argument, one thing everyone can agree on, is that hitting three home runs in one game is quite an amazing feat. That's exactly what George Evans did today at Nesquehoning College Fields. He went deep three times and carried his team to victory in the LSU Tigers 16-3 win over USC. "It all came together. I was seeing the ball well and I got some good pitches to hit," Evans said. "Good things happen, when that happens." He blistered the Trojans for 3 hits, batted in 6 runs and scored 3 times. The USC skipper said, "It ain't like we weren't trying. He was hot and really torched my boys today." George Evans hit a two-run home run off Francisco Gutiérrez in the 2nd, struck out in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, struck out in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Wes Mullen in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off Wes Mullen in the 8th. Evans is currently batting .458 with 5 home runs and 12 RBIs. |   |
