 | Rodríguez and Clavijo Suspended 9 Games Thursday, June 30th, 2016 Today the league office handed out 9-game suspensions to Vicente Rodríguez of the Gnats and Felipe Clavijo of the Pirates for their roles in a benches-clearing skirmish at The Pond yesterday.
The league commissioner said in the statement to both organizations, "This league does not condone fighting and aggressive conduct on the field, thus we had to take action to discourage this behavior in the future."
Presently Rodríguez is batting .231 with 4 home runs and 16 RBIs. He has played in 28 games and scored 14 times.
This season Clavijo has crafted a 5-4 mark with a 3.00 ERA in 78 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .206 against him and he has 56 strikeouts. |   |
