 | Huntsville Mata Gets the Cycle Sunday, May 8th, 2016 In Huntsville's 12-4 win today at Sabercats Grounds, José Carlos Mata roughed up Bel Air pitching in a big way. The 20-year-old designated hitter hit for the cycle, rapping out a single, double, triple and home run.
"What a good day! And my parents and family were here to see it, too," a beaming Mata said after the game. "I really got some good looks today and delivered. Sometimes you're just locked in."
He finished his historic day with 4 hits in 5 at-bats, 4 runs batted in and 2 runs scored.
José Carlos Mata hit a two-run home run off Tsuneyo Kawai in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, hit a two-run double in the 4th, singled in the 6th and tripled in the 8th.
