 | Mata Slams 3 Deep for Huntsville Friday, April 15th, 2016 Today was a special one for José Carlos Mata of the Huntsville Sabercats as he slammed three home runs in the 10-1 win over the Bel Air Princes. "Lately, I been uppercutting the ball too much. I would hit it hard, but they just went sky high and stayed in the ballpark," he said to sportswriters after the game. "No big long outs for me in this game... I leveled out my swing and connected on the sweet spot three times. I knew they were gone the minute I hit 'em." The Huntsville designated hitter had quite a game at Philip Banks Field as he collected 3 hits in 4 at-bats, drove in 4 and scored 4 runs. José Carlos Mata hit a two-run home run off Adam Lefebvre in the 1st, struck out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Alexandre Lallement in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Alexandre Lallement in the 6th and walked in the 9th. So far this year Mata has hit .258 with 4 home runs, 5 RBIs and 8 runs scored. |   |
