 | 3-Homer Hat Trick for Toyoda Friday, September 18th, 2015 Fans from San Angelo are still buzzing after San Angelo whipped the River Chiefs 11-4 today at The Reservation. Akio Toyoda smashed three home runs in the game. This is a feat that few players ever achieve and few fans ever see. In a tremendous performance the first baseman bashed out 3 hits in 4 at-bats, had 6 RBIs and scored 3 times. At the postgame press conference, he was asked what it felt like to hit three home runs in one game. Toyoda answered, "To get one homer is special... two is great... three is just unbelievable!" Akio Toyoda hit a two-run home run off Takao Onishi in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Takao Onishi in the 5th, walked in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Juan Bernard in the 8th. In his season totals, Toyoda has 15 home runs, .290 BA, .382 OBP, 83 RBIs and 58 runs scored. He has played in 136 games. |   |
