 | Phillips Rips Baltimore for 5 Hits Wednesday, August 27th, 2014 Mike Phillips told the press after his 5-hit day, "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate. He wants to hit the ball hard." Well, that's just what Phillips of the Las Vegas Lost did against the Baltimore Blue Claws. He went to the plate 5 times and 5 times he delivered base hits, much to the chagrin of the Blue Claws, who suffered a 15-5 defeat. "Not much that I can say," offered the losing manager, "he just hammered the heck out of us." Mike Phillips hit an RBI double in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit a two-run double in the 5th and hit an RBI double in the 7th. This season Phillips has delivered 79 hits in 244 at-bats for a .324 average with 9 home runs. He is getting on base at a .453 clip and his totals also include 48 RBIs and 52 runs scored.
