 | Murillo, Hoffman Suspended for Fracas Thursday, September 22nd, 2016 The league commissioner announced that two players had been suspended for inappropriate conduct. He told BNN, "What I'm trying to do with these penalties is say, we can't stop you from doing these things, but if you do them, you have to understand you will pay the consequences."
Baseball can be an intense game and on-field confrontations happen. However, the league disciplinary policy is to punish, sometimes severely, those who decide to settle things with their fists.
When Fernando Murillo of the New York Ninjas and Will Hoffman of the San Antonio Storm Troopers got into a scuffle during a game, both players knew that a suspension would be forthcoming.
Sure enough, today it was announced that both players will each receive a 7-game suspension for their actions in a recent game at Confucius Field.
So far this year, Murillo is batting .261 with 7 home runs and 74 RBIs.
So far in 28 appearances this season, Hoffman has recorded 7 wins and sustained 6 losses. He has pitched 155.1 innings, yielded 143 hits, fanned 144 and has a 4.29 ERA. | |
