 | Tourists-Whitecaps Fight Nets 5-Game Suspensions Tuesday, July 19th, 2016 Nobody was hurt in a confrontation yesterday between the Tourists Kichisaburo Suzuki and the Whitecaps Miguel Alvarado as both benches cleared during the fracas at McCormick Field. It appeared that there were a few punches thrown before the players could be separated.
Today the league commissioner took action. The league decided to punish the guilty parties. Kichisaburo Suzuki and Miguel Alvarado will each have to sit out 5-game suspensions for their roles in this fight.
On the year Suzuki is hitting .274 with 95 hits, 8 home runs, 50 RBIs, .355 OBP and has scored 53 runs.
So far this season, Alvarado has compiled a 0-1 won-lost mark with no saves and a 4.67 ERA. In 17.1 innings he has fanned 14 and opponents are hitting him at a .269 clip. | |
