 | 3-Homer Hat Trick for Takahashi Saturday, June 18th, 2016 Going... Going... Gone! Tetsui Takahashi did it three times in the Riverside 9-3 victory over the Newark Jail Birds. Three home runs in one game! "I was in a groove," he said, "and every pitch they tossed up there looked like a grapefruit." Commenting after the game to the press, the elated Takahashi explained, "I tell you what, I was so shocked because I didn't think the last ball had enough to get out. I thought it was just going to be a long out." For the day the Riverside second baseman went 3-3 against Newark with 3 RBIs and 4 runs scored in a brilliant display of power hitting. Tetsui Takahashi hit a solo-shot off Woody Owen in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Woody Owen in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Caden Anderson in the 7th and walked in the 8th. Thus far this season Takahashi has hit .266 with 9 home runs, 29 RBIs and scored 41 times. |   |
