 | Yamaguchi Week's #1 Player Monday, June 6th, 2016 It can be difficult for a young player to step out of the shadows and assert himself in the Alexander Cartwright League, but last week Jiro Yamaguchi of the Asheville Tourists reminded everyone just why he's here as he threw up numbers that made him an easy selection for Player of the Week. Yamaguchi rocked opposing pitching for a .500 average (13-26), 1 home run and 7 RBIs to come away with the award.
For the season Yamaguchi is currently batting .286 with 6 home runs and 29 RBIs. In 54 games he has reached base at a .342 rate and scored 30 runs to date. | |
