 | Starratt Blisters Carson City Friday, April 22nd, 2016 Grand Haven left fielder Dave Starratt could do no wrong as he collected 5 hits against Carson City, but he couldn't win the game. "It's a shame we didn't win. It would have been a very special day if that had happened. But it didn't. At least my batting average didn't take a plunge, too," he said. The Whitecaps were beaten 8-7 at Cowboys Stadium by the Mustang. "In every one of his at-bats, things were in his favor... he got hitter's counts," the skipper of the Mustang said to the press corps after the game. Starratt agreed. "The key is getting ahead. Once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get a better pitch to hit. You know the pitcher has to come in with it. And you're ready." Dave Starratt hit an RBI single in the 2nd, tripled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, doubled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 9th. On the year Starratt has hit .309 with 1 home run, 7 RBIs and scored 8 runs. |   |
