Earlier today, Jacksonville starting pitcher Bill Baker had to leave the game against Newark because of an injury. Team officials are reporting that he has a stretched elbow ligament and will miss 11 months of play. Baker was hurt throwing a pitch and was unable to continue playing. He will be evaluated this afternoon by team physicians.

Currently Baker has a record of 3-1 with 44 strikeouts and 22 walks in 45 innings and a 2.60 ERA.
