 | Cain Sensational, 5-6 Wednesday, September 10th, 2014 5 hits in a game has always been a magic number in baseball. Only a handful of players will do that. Get 5 hits in a game and you get your moment of glory... your 5 minutes of fame... you get your name in the record book.
In the Lights 15-6 win over Madison, Floyd Cain was red-hot today, scorching them for hit after hit at The Hive.
"To hit the ball consistently well, you have to relax. I was relaxed for the first four hits, but I must admit, I got a little tight when I realized I had a chance for a 5-hit game. On the last at-bat, I was ready to swing at anything close."
On his big day Cain delivered 5 hits in 6 at-bats.
Floyd Cain hit a two-run home run off Will McDonald in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Dan Schneider in the 7th and struck out in the 9th.
This year Cain has hit at a .294 clip with 57 RBIs, 13 home runs and 63 runs scored. | |
