 | Kellum Torches Marxists for 5 Hits Friday, May 2nd, 2014 No matter what the Prussian Marxists threw at him today, Phil Kellum hit it. He easily handled Marxists pitching, going 5 for 6 and helping the Hackers to a 15-10 triumph at The Bird Stadium. He told BNN reporters in the postgame interview, "The way I was swinging today, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball." The Prussian skipper quipped, "Well, the next time we might just do that... blindfold him... and then pitch him differently, just to be sure." Phil Kellum hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Eugene Wright in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, grounded out in the 9th and walked in a run in the 10th. So far this season, Kellum has recorded a .342 batting average with 25 hits, 7 home runs, 20 RBIs, 18 runs scored and a .448 OBP. |   |
