"He was getting ahead of us and keeping the ball off the plate," said the Phoenix manager. "Cortéz kept us confused the whole game." The Wichita hurler rang up 5 strikeouts and issued 3 walks in his 3-0 shutout victory. Cortéz has made 10 starts so far this year and put up a 3-5 won-lost record with a 4.88 ERA.
