 | González Hurls Minneapolis to Shutout Victory Friday, August 12th, 2016 Pedro González of the Minneapolis Freeze was on top of his game today. He tantalized the Springfield Reformers with crisp curves and changeups, mixed in with just enough fastballs to keep the batters honest and came away with a 8-0 shutout. In the postgame comments, the Springfield skipper said, "He had the changeup working. You knew it was coming and you still grounded out -- and then he threw it even slower." The Minneapolis hurler had 7 strikeouts, gave up no walks and surrendered 4 hits in his complete-game effort. González told reporters after the game, "To be successful in this league, you have to keep the ball down. If you don't, they'll make you pay." His record for the year is 8-8 in 20 starts and González has a 4.39 ERA. |   |
