Héctor Chávez expressed his disappointment when he learned that a sprained ankle would sideline him for 6 weeks. "I'll just spend a lot of time in the training room and hopefully speed up the healing process. Nobody likes to be out of the line-up," explained Chávez. The catcher got hurt in today's game with the El Paso Diablos. He was hurt colliding with a player at a base. Team officials had no comment on his roster replacement.

For the season, Chávez is hitting at a .352 clip with 15 home runs, 71 RBIs and has scored 55 runs. He has 107 hits, 29 walks and a .413 on-base percentage.
