 | No-Hitter for Martin Saturday, August 23rd, 2014 In a dominant outing, Will Martin of Springfield totally silenced the bats of the Detroit Death Stars. In the 2-0 victory he faced only 31 batters, surrendered no hits, had 7 strikeouts and 2 walks. "I'll be very honest with you," his manager said. "I didn't know the situation was what it was until the seventh inning. I happened to look up there to see how many hits we had. Then I happened to notice that they didn't have any hits." Commenting on his defeat, the losing manager told reporters in the clubhouse how he saw the game, "Well, it was pretty simple today, the Reformers had all the hits and all the runs. And Martin pitched a heck of a ballgame." Martin has started 13 times this year, pitched 91 innings, fanned 78 batters and walked 21. His current record is 7 wins and 4 losses with a 3.07 ERA. |   |
