The Seattle Sasquatch were dealt a severe blow when Salvador Salgado was hurt running the bases recently in a game against the So Cal Republic. After the game, the team trainer reported Salgado might have to spend a lengthy time on the disabled list. Today doctors confirmed it, ruling the 29-year-old third baseman out for the rest of the season with a strained groin muscle. They indicated it would take Salgado at least 4 weeks to heal.

Salgado has a .318 average and a .399 on-base percentage for the year. He has picked up 176 hits, 30 home runs and driven in 138 runs.
