 | Ruíz Stops Jersey Cold Thursday, June 28th, 2012 Before the game Manuel Ruíz liked his chances and his instincts proved to be right. In a superb outing the Mustangs pitcher whitewashed the Jersey Jesters 5-0. Ruíz said in the clubhouse afterward, "I just had a feeling it was going to be my day. My control was awesome. I could throw my curveball even when I was behind in the count." The Mile High starter held Jersey scoreless, giving up 4 hits while registering 7 strikeouts and issuing no walks. "We didn't have very many good at-bats," the Jesters manager said in his postgame interview. "When that happens, you usually lose." In season stats Ruíz shows a 7-7 record in 17 games, 136.2 innings, 85 strikeouts and a 2.17 ERA. |   |
