 | Leal Fashions Shutout Against Cardinals Tuesday, September 27th, 2016 The Georgia starter José Leal really did a number on the Cardinals today, shutting them out 4-0 on 3 hits in a complete game victory. He issued 3 walks and had 1 strikeout. In his postgame comments, the Boston manager said, "We didn't have good at-bats. I don't make excuses, but when we were playing the game, our energy didn't show. That comes from either extremely good pitching or extremely lousy hitting... seeing as our team has a bunch of pretty good hitters, I have to tip my cap to José... he did an outstanding job today." This season Leal has worked 213.1 innings with 89 strikeouts en route to a 15-8 record and a 3.59 ERA. |   |
