HIT STREAK NOW AT 20 FOR LEFTWICH

Hit Streak Now at 20 for Leftwich
Friday, September 2nd, 2016
He did it again!

Joe Leftwich got another hit and ran his hitting streak to 20. He collected 2 hits in 5 at-bats, but that wasn't enough to win the game. His Washington Capitalists were defeated 8-5 at Michigan & Trumball by the San Diego Hops.

During the recent streak, the 31-year-old right fielder has remained quiet, sidestepping questions about it with ease. Whether for superstitious reasons or simply in an effort to avoid the spotlight, Leftwich preferred to shower praise on his team. He told reporters in the clubhouse after the loss, "We have a better ballclub than we showed today."

"It's amazing to watch him hit right now, but I don't think anybody's really mentioning it," one of his teammates said. "So, we're trying to kind of keep that quiet... don't want to jinx him."
Joe Leftwich flied out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, struck out in the 6th, doubled in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th.

Leftwich is currently hitting at a .324 pace with 27 home runs, 63 RBIs and has scored 89 times.
