 | Cardinals Stop McKenzie at 31 Thursday, August 25th, 2016 William McKenzie, third baseman for the Nottinghamshire Outlaws, gave it a good try, but his day in history finally came to an end, when he went hitless in 4 tries against the Boston Cardinals. Not only had they stopped his 31-game hitting streak, they had beaten Nottinghamshire 4-1, too.
Speaking with the media after the game, McKenzie said, "Now that the streak has ended, I admit I will breathe a bit easier the next time I step up to bat. It was tough because I put a little pressure on myself. Now that it's over, I will definitely be a little bit looser at the plate."
This season McKenzie is batting .344 with 23 home runs. His totals include 94 RBIs and 98 runs scored. | |
