 | 5 Hits for Republic Yánez Wednesday, August 17th, 2016 "Ever since I picked up my first bat my coaches were always saying to keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing... just make contact and ya never know what'll happen," So Cal's Alfredo Yánez told reporters after the game. "That's all I did today. I made contact and it turned out well." It definitely turned out well for Yánez today as he collected 5 hits in 5 at-bats against Mile High. It turned out well for his team, too, as the Republic knocked off the Mustangs 11-10 at Staples Field @ The Rose Bowl. Alfredo Yánez singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Paul Durden in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit an RBI double in the 7th. This year Yánez has hit 12 home runs and posted a .300 batting average. |   |
