 | Hits Galore: Sparks Drills 5 Hits Tuesday, July 5th, 2016 On top of the San Diego hit parade today was Dwayne Sparks. He went to the plate 5 times and marched away with 5 hits, sparking the Hops to a 5-1 victory over the Seattle Sasquatch. The sweet swinging first baseman told reporters, "Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere. When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats." The skipper of the Sasquatch wailed to the press, "Too much plate. Not the way we planned it. Any hitter in the league will rip you when you do that." Dwayne Sparks hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. This season Sparks is batting .286 with 60 hits, 9 home runs, 26 RBIs, 24 walks, .362 OBP and has scored 35 runs. He has played in 64 games. |   |
