Just ask Jesús Cruz, who put together a stellar month out of the pen. The Nottinghamshire Outlaws reliever, 20, kept the opposition off balance all month as he held them to a .164 average and walked away with the Roberto Clemente League Pitcher of the Month award for May.
Cruz posted a 1-0 mark and a 0.57 ERA in 15 relief appearances. In 15.2 innings, he had 11 saves, 22 strikeouts, and 5 walks.
So far this season Cruz has picked up 17 saves in 28 relief appearances. He has also compiled a 3-0 won-lost mark with a 1.52 ERA and fanned 46 batters in 29.2 innings. |   |
