 | Herman Boosts Hit Streak to 20 Games Monday, May 23rd, 2016 And the hits just keep on coming -- especially off the red-hot bat of Joe Herman. The Mafia center fielder got 2 hits in 3 at-bats in today's 8-2 triumph over the Carolina Crush at Progress Energy Field. Herman has now hit safely in his last 20 games. Asked by the press, how it feels to go through something like this, he replied, "the longer it goes on, the more the pressure intensifies. The press coverage can get relentless at times. I wish I could just go out and play the game without all this distraction, but I know that's not going to happen. I know I will just have to grin and bear it." Joe Herman walked in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, struck out in the 6th and walked in the 8th. This year Herman is batting .349 with 59 hits and 11 home runs.
