 | Sasquatch Chill Smith's Hot Streak Tuesday, May 3rd, 2016 It was the best of both worlds for the Seattle Sasquatch today at Field de Los Layendas as they defeated the Cabo San Lucas Toreros 9-2 and also ended Dan Smith's 22-game hitting streak. The 30-year-old Cabo San Lucas first baseman failed to get a hit in 3 at-bats.
"Nothing personal against Dan, we just wanted to win the game," said the victorious Sasquatch skipper. "We did a great job keeping him off balance and guessing."
When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Smith frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about my streak ending, but I would feel much better about things if we had won the game."
This year Smith is hitting .409 with 9 home runs and 33 RBIs in 26 games played. He also boasts an OBP of .440 with 5 walks and 24 runs scored. | |
