 | Gould Spins 16-K Game Sunday, May 1st, 2016 It was a very special game for Maurice Gould today at Lucky 7 Ballpark in Las Vegas. He had the perfect delivery. The good fastball. The nasty curve. The batters mumbling and muttering when they swung and missed. And when he needed a strikeout, he got it. In an unforgettable performance the 30-year-old Gould fanned 16 strikeouts Berserkers and sparked the Las Vegas Jokers to a 8-2 victory over Minnesota. His catcher commented, "I don't think I have seen him throw better. His location and command were really something." In addition to his 16 strikeouts, Johnson allowed 4 hits and 1 walk in a superlative outing. His manager added, "It's a manager's day off when you get pitching like that." The Minnesota skipper had no comment that was printable in the newspaper. Presently Gould has a 3-1 mark in 6 starts with a 2.76 ERA. He has given up 31 hits in 42.1 innings, struck out 52 and issued 9 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .201 batting average against him. |   |
