 | 3-HR Dream Game for Rodríguez Saturday, September 13th, 2014 Kansas City second baseman Armando Rodríguez sensed he was going to have a good game at the plate, but he underestimated just a little bit. Prior to the game, Rodríguez predicted he would hit a home run against the South Carolina Bombers. During batting practice he told his teammates, "I really got my swing down pat. I feel some thunder in the lumber. I'm gonna get me a home run in this game." He was right. He did hit a home run -- three of them, in fact -- pacing the Tornadoes over the Bombers 17-4. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Rodríguez told reporters after the game. To go along with the homers, he collected 6 RBIs and scored 4 runs. Armando Rodríguez grounded out in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Jeremy Fisher in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Jeremy Fisher in the 7th, hit a two-run home run off Mike Joyce in the 9th and walked in the 9th. On the season, Rodríguez is batting .313 with 11 home runs and 43 RBIs. He has played in 69 games. |   |
