 | Hit Streak Now at 20 for Lewis Friday, September 5th, 2014 The Capitalists won the game today, but you would have been hard pressed to find anyone talking about it. The focus seemed to be on shortstop Michael Lewis extending his hitting streak to 20 games by going 1-for-5 in the game.
"Sure we are happy that we won, but seeing Michael extend his streak was also special," said a jubilant Washington manager. "He's a special player who is capable of doing some amazing things at the plate."
For the record, the Capitalists defeated the San Diego Hops 8-0 at Michigan & Trumball. Michael Lewis flied out in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, flied out in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
