 | Republic Smith Suspended 5 Games Friday, March 21st, 2014 So Cal will not have the services of left fielder Colt Smith for several days. The league commissioner has suspended him for 5 games for arguing a third strike call. The altercation occurred in yesterday's contest with the San Diego Hops and involved the home plate umpire. Riled up by being called out, Smith slightly shoved him after he was ejected. In baseball it is taboo to touch an umpire. |   |
