 | Hiroshima Toyo's Matsumoto Collects August Batting Honor Tuesday, September 1st, 2015 When Hirokazu Matsumoto stepped up to the plate in August, he did it with confidence and today he was honored with the Central League Batter of the Month award. The young Hiroshima Toyo right fielder posted a .469 batting average with 4 home runs, 15 RBIs and scored 14 runs. Matsumoto also worked pitchers for 7 walks to post a .533 on-base percentage. So far this year in 74 games Matsumoto is hitting .381 with 11 home runs, 38 RBIs and 55 runs scored. |   |
